What you should know before anything else.
Last updated 13 September 2026. Private company investing can lose you everything you put in. That is not a formality, it is the base case for a meaningful share of any early portfolio.
Nothing on this site, and nothing in any email that follows from it, is an offer to sell or a solicitation of an offer to buy any security. Any offer is made only through definitive offering documents for a specific opportunity, delivered to a specific person.
Those documents govern. Where anything on this site differs from them, they win and this site is wrong.
Participation is limited to accredited investors as defined in Rule 501(a) of Regulation D under the Securities Act of 1933, and to people with whom a substantive relationship already exists. On the access form you tell us whether you are a founder or an accredited investor, and we rely on what you choose.
Interests are not registered under the Securities Act or with any state securities regulator, and are offered in reliance on an exemption from registration.
You can lose your entire investment. Most early-stage companies do not return capital, and the ones that do can take a decade. There is no public market for these interests and there may never be one, so treat the money as locked up indefinitely rather than for a stated term.
Your position can be diluted by later rounds. Later investors commonly hold rights that rank ahead of yours. Valuations of private companies are estimates rather than prices, and a company can be marked up on paper and still return nothing. You should invest only an amount you can afford to lose completely, and only as part of a wider portfolio.
Past performance is not indicative of future results. The companies named on this site are companies we have invested in. Showing them is not a claim about how they have performed, or a forecast, or a representation that any future opportunity will resemble them. We do not publish returns on this site.
Companies shown include investments made through Axel Ventures and personal investments by its founder.
We invest our own money alongside investors, which aligns us but does not remove conflict. We may hold different amounts, at different times, on different terms, in the same company. Individuals connected to Axel Ventures may hold board or advisory roles at companies shown here, and may be paid for them. We may have a financial interest in a company being introduced to you. Specific conflicts for a specific opportunity are disclosed in that opportunity's documents.
Nothing here is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice, and nothing here is a recommendation that any particular investment is suitable for you. Suitability depends on your own circumstances. Take your own professional advice before you commit to anything.
Anything on this site about what health companies will do, or what the market will do, is an opinion about the future. Those opinions may be wrong. They are not promises, and they are not a basis on which to invest.
