What we collect, and what we do not.
Last updated 23 September 2026. This describes the actual system rather than the usual boilerplate. If something here does not match what the site does, the site is wrong and we want to know.
The Talk to us form collects your name, email address and phone number, your LinkedIn address and company if you give them to us, how you found us, anything else you choose to tell us, and whether you are a founder or an accredited investor. It records which of those two you chose and the time you chose it.
We keep that record rather than deleting it when a decision is made. A private offering rests on an investor’s self-attestation, so that record is the part worth keeping. If we decline, the record is marked declined and kept, for the reason above.
Signing in is by email, with a one-time link or code. You never set a password with us. We store your name, your email address, your phone number and city, if you give them to us, and the deal rooms you have been given access to, along with any commitments you make and their progress.
Signing documents and moving money happen with our fund administrator, not with us. Axel never holds signed subscription documents and never handles your bank details.
We record page views and clicks against a random identifier stored in your browser. That identifier is not linked to your name or your email address unless you send us the Talk to us form. If you do, we connect your earlier visits to your request, so we can see what you read before you wrote in. Alongside it we store the page, what was clicked, where you arrived from, whether you are on a phone or a computer, a coarse location no more precise than a city, and the name of the organization that owns the network your visit came through, which is usually an internet provider and sometimes an employer.
Our analytics do not store your IP address. It is sent to IPinfo to look up that network name, and not kept. When you sign in, our authentication provider records your IP address and browser with the session, to keep it secure. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share anything with data brokers. Our emails carry no tracking pixels and no rewritten links, so we cannot tell whether you opened one.
The site does not change its behavior in response to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals, because it does no cross-site tracking and treats every visitor the same.
These companies process data on our behalf, and we will name any others here if that changes. Vercel hosts the site. Supabase holds the database in the United States. Twilio SendGrid sends our email. Google Workspace runs our mailboxes. IPinfo names the network a visit came from. Our fund administrator holds the signed documents, the capital accounts and the tax forms for any deal you invest in. Each is bound to use it only to provide that service.
Access requests and investor records are kept for as long as the relationship lasts, and then for as long as we are required to keep records of who we dealt with. Analytics events are kept as individual records against the random identifier, never against your name. If you ask us to delete what we hold about you, we will, except where a record has to be retained by law.
You can ask what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and the UK and EU General Data Protection Regulation. Write to privacy@axel-ventures.com and a person will answer.
If this changes materially we will change the date at the top and, if it affects you, tell you by email rather than expecting you to check.
